[Video] Regression or Healing - Ep. 4 of the Trinity Amanda Podcast

How to tell the difference between a true regression and moments when the healing process temporarily looks like a worsening.

About the author: Trinity Amanda is a follower of Anthony William who, with the help of Medical Medium's information, was able to help her son who suffers from autism. She talks about her experience with her child when applying the autism protocol, reveals various details she learned through her personal experience, answers frequently asked questions, and warns about common mistakes. She is an ordinary mother who tells the story of an extraordinary protocol that changed her and her child's life. Her podcast aims to support and encourage others on their healing journey. Anthony William himself is so impressed by her strict adherence to the Medical Medium protocols and her sincere desire to help other families facing similar challenges that he shares her podcast episodes on his own podcast as an example and inspiration.

In the fourth episode of her podcast, Trinity Amanda continues to share her personal experience applying Medical Medium's autism protocol to her son, Nicholas. This time, the topic is one of the most emotional and confusing for many parents – how to distinguish between a true regression and moments when the healing process temporarily appears to be a worsening.

Trinity explains that during the healing process, situations may arise that initially seem worrying – behavioral changes, new reactions, temporary sensitivity, rejection of old habits, or difficulties with things that previously seemed easier. But in her experience, this doesn't always mean regression. Sometimes, the child simply begins to "wake up" to the world around them, to feel more, to react more consciously, and to go through a transitional stage before a new developmental leap.

Before watching this episode, it is recommended to have watched the first three episodes of the podcast:

What does "regression" mean?

In the context of autism, the word "regression" is typically used when a child loses skills they once had – for example, speech, eye contact, social engagement, motor skills, ability to play, self-regulation, or control over certain functions. For parents, this can be extremely frightening, especially if they have already experienced a period where their child began to withdraw, lose connection with others, or stop doing things they previously could.

In this episode, Trinity addresses precisely this fear – when something suddenly changes and the parent wonders: "Is this regression, or is it part of the healing?" Through examples from Nicholas's life, she shows that sometimes temporary chaos, new reactions, or strange behavior can be a sign that the brain and nervous system are resetting, not that the child is regressing.

Main topics in the episode

  • How bowel movements change when starting the heavy metal detox smoothie
  • Why dark, sticky, and strong-smelling stools may appear at first
  • How Trinity distinguishes regression from the healing process
  • What she calls the “awakening phase”
  • Why some new reactions can be a sign of increased awareness
  • How temporary difficulties sometimes precede major progress
  • Why parents are often scared by changes that seem like setbacks
  • How Nicholas's motor skills recovery progresses
  • What Trinity shares about potty training, public restrooms, and fear of certain situations
  • Why patience, trust, and observation are so important during the protocol

Changes in bowel movements when starting the heavy metal detox smoothie

At the beginning of the episode, Trinity openly discusses a topic that many parents ask her about – changes in bowel movements after starting the heavy metal detox smoothie.

She shares that for many children, stools can become very dark, sticky, pasty, and have a stronger odor. In her experience, this is not simply due to wild blueberries but is related to the process of clearing toxic heavy metals and other accumulated substances from the body.

For Nicholas, this period lasted several months, with bowel movements gradually normalizing. Trinity emphasizes that she always observed for irritation or discomfort and, if necessary, slowed down for a day before continuing again.

The "awakening phase"

One of the strongest themes in the episode is what Trinity calls the "awakening phase." She describes how, after starting the protocol, Nicholas began to notice things he previously barely reacted to.

For example, he used to sit completely calmly while she trimmed his nails, as if he didn't realize what was happening at all. After a while, however, he started to react, resist, and show that he disliked it. At first glance, such a change might seem like a worsening, but Trinity sees it differently – as a sign that the child is beginning to feel more, to be more aware, and to connect more clearly with what is happening around him.

She also gives an example of another child who previously sat calmly in a stroller, but after starting the heavy metal detox smoothie began to refuse the stroller and wanted to walk. For the parent, this creates a new challenge, but it can actually be a sign of progress – a desire for more independence, movement, and participation in life.

When things look worse just before new progress

Trinity recounts that with Nicholas, she often noticed a strange pattern – just before a big developmental leap, unusual behavior or a period of instability would appear.

Such moments taught her that healing doesn't always look neat and predictable. Sometimes it resembles a "reboot" – as if the brain starts to form new connections, new skills, and new ways of functioning, but before that, there may be a brief period of confusion.

The main message of the episode

The main message of this episode is that healing doesn't always look like a straight upward line. Sometimes there are moments that seem confusing, difficult, or even frightening, but not every change means regression.

Through her personal experience, Trinity shows that some temporary difficulties can be part of a deeper recovery process – a period when the child begins to feel more, to be more aware, to move in a new way, to communicate better, or to prepare for their next big developmental leap.

The episode is a valuable encouragement for parents to observe carefully, trust their intuition, and remember that every child has their own rhythm of healing.
