You don't have to give up your favorite guacamole when reducing your fat intake to support your recovery. Enjoy this fat-free recipe made with green peas, while retaining the characteristic fresh taste, creamy texture, and satisfying effect of traditional guacamole. This is a great dip that you can regularly include in your menu and serve for lunch, dinner, or as a snack – for both you and your whole family.
Green peas have the ability to support hair follicle regeneration and hair growth. The chlorophyll in them differs from that in many other vegetables and herbs, as it contains enzymes that stimulate and restore weakened hair follicles. Additionally, green peas are rich in various micronutrients that also contribute to new hair growth.
¼ cup finely chopped onion (optional – white, yellow, or red)
¼ cup fresh coriander leaves, coarsely chopped
Method of preparation:
If using frozen peas, place them in a colander and rinse with warm water until thawed.
Then steam the thawed or fresh peas for 3-4 minutes until tender. Cool them under cold running water until pleasantly cool to the touch.
Place the peas, lime juice, garlic, jalapeño, cumin, coriander, and sea salt (if using) in a food processor. Blend for 1-2 minutes until smooth and creamy.
Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add the tomatoes, onion, and fresh coriander. Stir gently until evenly distributed.
Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Serves 2
Notes:
If possible, use organic green peas.
Although adding quality sea or rock salt is optional, the recipe is more healing without salt. If you gradually get used to the taste, you can reduce the amount over time or exclude it completely.
