DUTCH APPLE PIE

Warm sweet apple slices arranged in a delicious baked sponge and topped with lightly toasted crunch topping and coconut whipped cream if desired. When you want to treat yourself to something delicious and not only that - the pie is healthy because it is free of gluten, dairy products and eggs, which can harm your health. Try this recipe when you're looking for a dessert or afternoon snack to serve at a social gathering, holiday or special event, or make it as a delicious treat for the family. It will surely give you pleasure.

The apple is an ancient food that takes us back to creation. It is one of the first foods that gave us comfort, and that's why apples create a sense of refuge. This makes them perfect for when you feel depressed, alienated, incapable, powerless, worthless, worthless – you get the idea. If you ever feel like you're underappreciated, eating apples can help you change direction.

Filling:

  • 8 cups sliced ​​apples, pitted and peeled;
  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar ;
  • 2 tbsp. potato starch;
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon ;
  • 1 tbsp. lemon juice.

To serve:

1/3 cup coconut whipped cream (optional).

Method of preparation:

To prepare the baked sponge cake, mix the ground flaxseed , applesauce , coconut sugar and coconut oil in a bowl. Mix until smooth.

In another bowl, whisk together the oat flour , brown rice flour and tapioca starch .

Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until you have a uniform soft dough. Leave in the fridge for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 180 °C.

Roll the dough between two sheets of parchment paper, then transfer it to a round cake or pie pan. With your hands, press the dough evenly to the bottom and sides of the bowl. You can use a cup to level the bottom. Prick the dough several times with a fork. Store in the fridge while you prepare the other ingredients.

To make the topping, combine the oat flour and brown rice flour in a small bowl. Stir until combined, then pour in the maple syrup and coconut oil . Mix the liquid ingredients with the dry ingredients until you have a crumbly mixture. Set aside.

To prepare the filling, combine the apple slices, coconut sugar , potato starch, cane lata and lemon juice in a very large bowl. Toss until the apple slices are evenly coated.

Remove the marshmallows from the refrigerator and arrange the apple slices tightly in the baking dish. Top with the crunch topping and bake for 30 minutes until the marshmallows are browned, then cover and bake for a further 20-30 minutes until the apples are cooked through.

Chill for at least 1 hour, then serve with a dollop of whipped cream (optional).

Portion for 6-8 people.
